Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour vs Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation

Hello Everyone:

Fall is just around the corner, even though here in California it will probably feel like summer all the way through the end of September.  I sure hope not.  I want to experience all seasons again.

Today's post is about full coverage foundations.  I purchased the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation as well as the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation.

First let me say that both of these foundations have an amazing coverage, full coverage definitely! The Tarte brand went on very nice and did not feel heavy when applying with a brush (I used the real technique brush). You definitely need to keep buffing the product with your brush to get a nice finish.  I wore this to a wedding and after about 5 hours I noticed it was cakey on me.  I don't know if it was the weather, it was rather humid that day, or just the product.  I did use finishing powder and sprayed my trusty Skindinavia Finishing Spray, like I normally do.

The following week I tried the Laura Mecier Silk Creme Foundation, again full coverage, applied with a brush (same brush "real technique" - I did wash it LOL!) It went on smoothly and very light. I used Hourglass product for the finishing powder and the Skindinavia Finishing Spray like I normally do.  I really liked how this look came out.  I received a lot of complements that my skinned looked healthy and I looked very pretty.  Hmmm!

After my initial try of both products the Laura Mercier lasted long and held up well.  I will definitely give the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour another try.  I am hoping it was just the weather.

I will definitely let you know what I decide.  Laura Mercier is definitely a keeper in my collection!

Until next time! Take care of everyone!

iT Cosmetics CC+ Full Coverage Cream Review

Hi!

OMG! This is the BEST CC cream EVER.  It is light and the coverage is AMAZING.  I can't say enough about this product.  I have scars on my cheeks from acne, which are very visible.  I have always avoided wearing make-up due to making it more noticeable.

This is definitely a product I can get use to wearing on a daily basis.  The coverage is excellent and very natural which is the key to this product. It holds up well for about 6 to 7 hours without touch up.

If you need a light weight make-up, purchase this product you will not regret it.  I know a lot of Guru's on youtube love it as well.  Below is a picture of the one I'm using.  I am actually in between medium and tan.

Until next week!

Wedding Album

About three weeks ago, I attended a family member's wedding and as a gift to them I made them a tabletop wedding album. I had so much fun making this. I followed the instructions from "SoMuchScrap" and changed  it up a bit.  I loved how it came out!

I used two different paper stacks from Michaels and Joann's.  I purchased some stickers on sale and added ribbon, flowers and a Tim Holtz buckle. Below are some of the pictures I took before wrapping the present.

Definitely need some lessons with Photoshop Elements so I can organize my photos better! Until next time!

Wen Product - Review

Hello Everyone:

I was looking for a hair product that would work with the thin hair. After watching all of the commercials over and over I decided to give it a try.  First, I have colored my hair for years and finally decided to go natural (which is about a medium brown). My goal was to get my hair healthy and try to keep from loosing my hair LOL!. I went ahead and purchase the Wen "Tea Tree" to give it a try.

I have to say after my first wash, my hair looked shiny and felt soft.  It was actually very easy to style my fine waving hair.  I blow-dry it straight and I didn't even need a flat iron.  I thought I hit pay dirt!  I was delighted, boy did that end quickly. The very next day it was extremely oily and weighted down.

So I washed my hair again and used less of the product. It didn't make a difference.  I could not for the life of me figure out how to make this product work.  I absolutely hated how my hair felt and looked on the second day.

I don't know if other people have had the same problem or it just doesn't work on my thin oily hair. I can definitely go about two days without washing my hair using other products, but with this one it would have to be washed everyday.

I will definitely not be purchasing this product again.

I hope everyone is having an AWESOME summer and staying cool!  Until next time!

Door Knob Hanger & Card

Hello Everyone:

It's been a long while since my last post.  I just can't seem to get a groove with blogging.  I have no excuses.  Today I wanted to share a project I made over the weekend.  I had a few items I had purchased a while back from my local scrapbook store (Treasured Memories) that I was dying to use. During a garage sale, I purchased this cute door knob hanger that I wanted to decorate.

I went ahead and painted it white (3 coats to be exact), and then started to layer items on the hanger. The doily is sprayed with Tiffany Lou Blue and Scintillating Sliver from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I loved how it came out.  Of course I threw in some of Martha Stewart butterfly punches, as well!

I had a few pieces left and created a card to go with it.

Here is the picture of both projects side be side. (I have the WORST lighting in my house)

I think they both turned out pretty good.  I enjoyed creating both projects, until next time! Take care everyone!

Filofax & Erin Condren Life Planners

Yes, I am addicted to planners. It started out in college and then went on to follow me in the work force. I started out with a simple notebook. I created charts to organize my schedule, homework, chores, and meal planning, it was crazy.  I also had a thing for colored pens, which has stayed with me, by the way. LOL!

At my second job (banking), I was introduced to "Day-Runner/Day-Timer". I was in heaven.  My boss gave me one for my birthday.  Skip to 2011 I purchase an iPhone and decide to go digi with my schedule. It was AWEFULL! I could not keep an appointment if my life depended on it. I missed birthday's and anniversary's. I gave it a try, and failed!

In 2012, I decided to go back to my Day-Runner.  Around mid 2013, I kept seeing all of these planner videos on youtube and that was it for me. It was so up my alley. They were using products I have in my craftroom (project life, stamps, inks, etc.).  I purchased my first Filofax - Finsbury A5 on sale for $40. Did I tell you, I LOVE IT!

OMG!! Then comes the "Erin Condren Life Planners" and its a MUST HAVE.  I actually purchased two of them.  I am now up to 3 organisers.  Crazy, I know.

Then I decided on the personal size Filofax, so I can carry it at all times.  OMG! I fell in love with the "aqua colored - saffiano".  Love love love this one.  I was originally looking for the Malden Aqua, but that was discontinued. :(.

I am actually excited because Filofax is coming out with a new line in the next couple of weeks. I have my eye on one or two of them. :) We will have to see.

Below are some of my favorite planner ladies, who are wonderful, creative, and inspiring. Some have Etsy stores for you to purchase handmade dividers and charms, etc.

Baby Album for Twins

I wanted to share the Baby Album I created for the twins that were born on March 14, 2014. My sweetheart's brother's wife (tongue twister there) had the twins last Friday (Baby Kat & Baby Coco). Congrats to April and Bill!

I was inspired by mysistersscrapper on youtube.  She done a beautiful baby boy album using the Echo Park Bundle of Joy (Boy) paper.

I purchased the Bundle of Joy (girl) to create this album. I love this line.  I am hoping to get my hands on three more sets, so I can re-do them for each of the girls and do one for my god-daughter Mercy. Below are some pictures I took on my iPhone the day of the shower, which is the day I completed the album.

I hope to be blogging on a regular basis, LOL!  I keep saying that, let see how I do.  Until next time! Take care everyone!
